Aloha!
Shelagh Sandstedt, LMT, MAT-11571, Certified Aston® Patterning Practitioner, Certified Lymphedema Therapist, offers a variety of modalities to support you in achieving your therapeutic goals.
- Aston® Patterning: An Aston-Patterning® session integrates a detailed exploration of your body's pattern (both in stillness and in motion and through palpation of tension patterns) to co-create a customized session, integrating hands-on bodywork, movement coaching and ergonomics to address your interests and goals. Your regular body usage reflects how soft tissues (fascia, tendons, ligaments) hold onto the shape from your activities and your history. Accidents, injuries, daily body usage, and ergonomics can create specific holding patterns in your body. My goal is to facilitate changes, through bodywork, specific movement cues, and ergonomic suggestions, to help you find "your best available neutral" so that you can feel better, perform better, and learn to age gracefully. Whatever your specific goal is, discover how an Aston-Patterning® session can make a significant change in your daily movement, posture, and overall well being. - Integrated Therapeutic Massage: Integrated therapeutic massage sessions are tailored to your interests and goals, integrating specific deep tissue work, neuromuscular therapy, lymphatic drainage, and Aston® spiraling myofascial integration.
- Manual Lymphatic Drainage: Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a very gentle, light, yet powerful, manual therapy that helps to direct interstitial fluid into the lymphatic system and through the lymph nodes. The lymphatic system is part of your immune system. Manual Lymphatic Drainage stimulates the lymphatic system to clean toxins, proteins, viruses, and dead cells about 20 times faster than the body is able to do on it's own. This modality can be effectively used to decrease swelling, post-operatively or from musculoskeletal injuries. Manual Lymphatic Drainage can be integrated into other treatments as needed or desired. Shelagh is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies (ACOLS). She is well-trained and experienced in working with clients managing lipedema, lymphedema, or at risk for developing lymphedema due to lymph node removal or other factors.
