Shelagh Sandstedt, LMT, CLT (MAT-11571), and Certified Aston® Patterning Practitioner, has been a practicing massage therapist and massage therapy educator since 2009, serving for five years as the Director of the Maui School of Therapeutic Massage. She maintains a therapeutic massage and bodywork practice in Kihei, Maui, Hawaii. Shelagh integrates anatomically-specific modalities, such as Neuromuscular Therapy and Orthopedic Massage, with structural work that takes into account the larger context of posture, alignment, body usage and ergonomics. As an Aston® Patterning Practitioner, she integrates into every session the principles of Aston® Kinetics, the work of Judith Aston, a pioneer in the fields of Bodywork and Movement therapies. Manual Lymphatic Drainage is another one of Shelagh’s specialties. She has been practicing lymphatic drainage since 2011 and certified in 2021 by the Academy of Lymphatic Studies as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT). Other teachers and mentors include Deane Juhan (Trager, Resistance and Release Work), Lynn Wind, and Jim Hackett. Shelagh received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University (B.S. Biological Sciences) and is a graduate of the Maui School of Therapeutic Massage.
